My Favourite Brunch Spots in London

Molly Brooks
Brunch is the most important meal of the day - get me a bellini, an oat latte and some kind of eggs and I'm a happy girl.

Sunday in Brooklyn

This breakfast sandwich changed my life - I came here for the first time last year and had to come back again for my Birthday brunch. This sandwich has altered my brain chemistry - I can't explain it, I've just never had anything like it. It was so unique, just wow. I came here with my Dad and his eggs looked absolutely unreal. Also, the coffee here was literally stunning.

Granger & Co. Notting Hill

A classic basic bitch Notting Hill brunch spot, but I don't care. The presentation of this brunch obviously wasn't the best on this occasion, but it was delicious. The poached eggs were absolute perfection. I wasn't expecting the salmon to be cooked when I ordered it, but it was so yummy. It takes a long time to get a table because it's so popular but the waiter gave us all free drinks because he felt bad - my green smoothie made me feel like the pinnacle of health. The vibes are super cute and aesthetic and I would happily order almost anything on the menu.

Granger & Co. Chelsea

I'm listing Granger & Co. again because the Chelsea location has a bit of a different vibe from Notting Hill. I also wanted to give a moment to this shrimp burger - more lunchy than I usually go for at brunch but it was phenomenal, the flavours were immaculate and I think about it at least once a week. I've recreated it pretty well but I don't know what kind of drugs they inject into that mayo. As I write this I'm realising I really need an opportunity to go back and have it again.

Megan's

I've been to Megan's on the King's Road twice and both the food and cocktails have been really yummy both times. I've tried sweet and savoury - the blueberry coconut pancakes the first time and the veggie breakfast the second (with poached eggs, shakshuka, halloumi, avocado and mushrooms). I also loved the iced coffee which was really cute, it came as a glass of coffee ice cubes and a little jug of milk. The only thing I would say is that both times, the service has been quick but a tiny bit unpleasant - maybe the other locations would be better.

Bluebird Chelsea

I'd wanted to come here for ages so I eventually took Toto for his Birthday this year and it did not disappoint. He shocked everyone and went for the veggie breakfast (he usually orders something including bacon) which looked amazing. I had an Eggs Royale (shock) and it was stunning. We loved the outdoor vibe so despite the rain, we sat outside under an umbrella and were a bit cold. I imagine it would be so lovely on a sunny day - it looks gorgeous whenever I walk past. The service was really good - my first oat latte tasted weird and bitter and they immediately made me a new one.

The Ivy

The Ivy is a classic brunch spot for a reason. This is the Tower Bridge location but my favourite is the Ivy Chelsea Garden in Chelsea in terms of atmosphere, I just love sitting outside at the back surrounded by the gorgeous greenery and pretty fountains. I can never resist getting the Eggs Royale (obvi) and it never disappoints. The pancakes and Full English have also always looked amazing when my friends have got them - I feel like it's a spot that's just super consistent with the quality of its food, atmosphere and service.

Wulf & Lamb

I came here back when I was vegan because it's fully plant-based so obviously, it has one of the best vegan menus that I've seen. I just need to give a moment to the "eggs" - they were the most realistic and delicious fake eggs I've ever had (they're usually so dry and rubbery at other places). Also, just LOOK at that super fresh avocado toast with beetroot I-can't-remember-what. I remember the coffee being absolutely gorgeous, I think I had a flat white. We sat outside on Pavillion Road and I just love the vibes there, especially in the sun.

The Wolseley

Definitely a special occasion option, The Wolseley is such a beautiful restaurant from atmosphere to presentation (as you can see). I was meant to be vegan when I came here but after seeing an Eggs Royale headed to another table, I couldn't resist ordering my favourite breakfast and it was one of the best I'd ever had - that hollandaise sauce...
